"One way that hackers are infiltrating the Web is by "SEO poisoning," or using SEO techniques to pump up the ranking of malicious websites in search results to make them appear legitimate. On average, 14 percent of top search results for a given "hot" topic on Google led to a malicious website."

This looks like an interesting SaaS tool for managing and tracking your online "presence". May need to take a closer look at this for work use - could be a good way to automate searching for mentions and branding.

Gotta love British humor.

Interesting new service that lets you create a verified Twitter identity in a few minutes. Now, even if your not a celebrity or large corporation, you can obtain an indentity verification that you can share with Twitter and other services. Its free for personal use and the setup could not be easier. Set my account up in a few minutes and it modifies your Twitter avatar with a verification seal. Neat stuff and worth a look if you want to have a verified account presence on Twitter.

skribit officially grows up and out - sheds beta designation. This is one of those truly unique ideas that is implemented well. I wish these guys lots of success. New Firefox 3.6 article at arstechnica. So far, I am not impressed by any speed increase. In fact, it seems slower to me than 3.5.x, and not sure if that is due to caching issues or just that Chrome is really still that much faster in everyday use. Will do more testing today and tonight and comment here if things improve.

My team uses Firebug and I occasionally scratch the surface of what it can do. It's one of those tools with so much capability that it scares me a little. This article over at w3avenue is a good starting point for getting to know Firebug and what it can do for you. Just wish there was a full version out for Google Chrome. Maybe someday.
